John has ranched and farmed his entire life and he has auctioneered and sold real estate for 40 years.  He has been a licensed realtor in Minnesota and South Dakota for approx. 20 years and he has sold real estate in South Dakota for 10 years.  John currently owns and operates a ranch in Fall River County, S.D.

John and his wife Elizabeth have 3 children, 2 boys and a daughter.  Elizabeth is the middle school principal in Hot Springs, SD.  They have lived in South Dakota for about 10 years and they love it!
